God Is Love – A Triolet

For some reason, I am compelled to write one more triolet to finish off my trio of triolets. (Truth be told, I have fallen in love with this form of poetry so you will probably see more in the future.)

In writing this triolet, I took the liberty of changing just one word in each of the three repeating lines to reinforce the idea that each of us needs love. I’m posting this triolet for Thankful Thursday because I am so thankful for God’s love.

God Is Love

I need love; God is love
For God so loved the world
He gave His only Son
You need love; God is love

Faith, hope, and love are one
Entwined with grace, mercy
We need love; God is love
For God so loved the world

Being somewhat ignorant of forms of poetry, I had never heard of a triolet until your previous entry that included one. I have thoroughly enjoyed them (I must have missed one somewhere…I’ll have to backtrack).

  2. Yes, we need love, and yes, praise God, He gives an abundance of love – never ending love.

We need love – God is love! There you go! 🙂 God bless you and your writing for Him!
