The Lord Is My Strength

This quote was in my Quotemeal email from

“There is nothing that we can see on earth which does not either show the wretchedness of man or the mercy of God. One either sees the powerlessness of man without God, or the strength of man with God.” Blaise Pascal.

I choose to see the strength of man with God. How about you? Will you choose to rely on Jesus for your strength?

Praise be to the LORD,
   for he has heard my cry for mercy.
The LORD is my strength and my shield;
   my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.
My heart leaps for joy,
   and with my song I praise him.

The LORD is the strength of his people,
   a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
Save your people and bless your inheritance;
   be their shepherd and carry them forever.
Psalm 28:6-9.

I am a Jesus Freak, and I don't care who knows it. I am a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. My blood family is only part of the larger family of Christ that I belong to. I love to write, especially about my dear Savior.

  1. Deb, sorry your husband had that experience but I’m happy he’s doing well. May God bring complete healing in such a way that it baffles those who see the change!!

    Linda, thanks for sharing this. We just had a discussion about how we should pray for those who deliberately do us harm. It’s one thing to ask God to forgive them and another thing to ask Him to bring swift justice.

    We had to deal with an experience that proved that we are powerless without God but also showed us that our strength is in Him alone.

      • Oh, me too, Linda! My husband had a heart attack on Tuesday. It has been a few days here of needing carried! (hubby is doing great – stent in place and he gets to come home here in a little while!) Jesus has covered us through it all, just like the good Shepherd He is! 🙂
