Thankful – A Poem

One of my fellow bloggers suggested in a comment that I add Thankful Thursday to my schedule. I think this is a wonderful idea, so I decided to run with it. As I thought about what to do for Thankful Thursday I had the idea of doing an acrostic poem of the things I am thankful or grateful for, using words that are synonyms of thankful. I don’t know if I will be able to come up with 52 synonyms to do this all year, but we’ll see.

THANKFUL

Time spent with family for Christmas;
Holiday celebrations with friends;

N

K

F

U

L
ove that binds them all.

These are things I am Thankful for.

“As for us, we can’t help but thank God for you, dear brothers and sisters loved by the Lord. We are always thankful that God chose you to be among the first to experience salvation—a salvation that came through the Spirit who makes you holy and through your belief in the truth.” 2 Thessalonians 2:13.

I am a Jesus Freak, and I don't care who knows it. I am a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. My blood family is only part of the larger family of Christ that I belong to. I love to write, especially about my dear Savior.

  1. This is lovely, Linda.
    We do have so much to be thankful for! Now you’re giving me ideas to look around me for reasons to give God thanks. I take so much for granted at times.
    (Perhaps we could add a couple more L’s for Lovely Linda? 😉 )
    Thanks again for the reminders, Linda. He so deserves our thanks.
    Thankful,

  2. Thank you, thankful Linda! This was a wonderful idea, and a wonderful poem. The more we purpose to think of those things we’re thankful for, the more things we find to be thankful for and this is something that is okay to become habit forming. So thankful for you, dear friend!
