Thoughts on “For Me Alone?”

Once again, I’m sharing thoughts from my response to a C.S. Lewis quote in The C.S. Lewis Journal. This one happens to be a longer quote and a longer prayer, and shorter thought.
A Quote from Lewis
Be sure that the ins and outs of your individuality are no mystery to Him; and one day they will no longer be a mystery to you. The mould in which a key is made would be a strange thing, if you had never seen a key; and the key itself a strange thing if you had never seen a lock. Your soul has a curious shape because it is a hollow made to fit a particular swelling in the infinite contours of the Divine substance, or a key to unlock one of the doors in the house with many mansions. For it is not humanity in the abstract that is to be saved, but you—you, the individual reader, John Stubbs or Janet Smith. Blessed and fortunate creature, your eyes shall behold Him and not another’s. . . . Your place in heaven will seem to be made for you and you alone, because you were made for it—made for it stitch by stitch as a glove is made for a hand.

My Thoughts
It is me, Linda Kruschke, who is saved by the grace of Jesus Christ. It has long been a comfort and a blessing to me to know that God knows the ins and outs of my individuality; He knows all that I was, am, and will be; He knows all that I think and do; He knows my heart as it once was, steeped in and controlled by my sinful nature and as it is now in the control of the Spirit; and knowing all this, He loves me completely and deeply. He loves me enough to die so I might be reconciled to my Creator.
He also loves my friends and family, and He died for each of them individually. He knows them, He knows their hearts and where they are going so much more than I do.
A Prayer
Lord, I lift my friends and family to you. I pray that they be filled by Your Spirit, to know You and Your love.
I also give thanks and praise for Your love for me. Help me, Lord, to not allow my sinful nature to wrest control from the Spirit. Help me to attain the perfect place you have prepared for me in heaven and to be filled with Your Divine substance. Amen
