Last fall, I was interviewed by Cynthia L. Simmons for her radio show and podcast titled Heart of the Matter. I talked about my experience with sexual assault trauma, the effects of that trauma, and how God showed me the way out of the pit of depression and despair I was mired in. The interview was supposed to air in November, but somehow it fell through the cracks.
In December, I contacted Cynthia to see what had happened and she said she had somehow missed getting it on her calendar. I can totally understand something like that happening because we’re all so busy, plus 2020 was marked by the added stress of Covid–19. I’m just glad I followed up with her, because she was able to get the interview produced and up online this past week.
If you struggle with depression and despair, and have a history of trauma that you haven’t resolved, you may be blessed by my story. Or if you know someone who has a history of sexual assault, my story may give you a deeper understanding of why they struggle. I invite you to take a listen to Cynthia’s podcast interview here: https://heartofthematterradio.libsyn.com/linda-kruschke-overcome-past-hurts-final.
If you give it a listen, you may have heard at the end where Cynthia points her listeners to my free resource for trauma survivors and wondered how you could get that resource. You can get a copy of my guided poetry journal on this page: https://anotherfearlessyear.net/i-believe-you/ .
