Perchance to Dance
Oh, to dance a
romantic happenstance with love
on a June evening
perchance a preordained meeting
an answer to prayer
believe if you dare
What shall I wear
this evening to dance
to meet my love
catch his first glance
by grace from above

I’m finally getting around to writing to the Monday prompt at dVerse Poets Pub where Bjorn challenged us to write a Quadrille, a poem of exactly 44 words. The poem must include the word “dance” as an intransitive verb. I decided to write 11 lines of 4 words each with some internal and end rhymes throughout. The subject is the night I met my husband over 30 years ago.
Love where is how dance should be… I feel the warmth of your love in this.
Sounds like a romantic way to meet a future husband…well done!
sMiLes.. dancing with
Jesus.. iS a fine way to
move.. sadly many folks
talk the talk.. but never ever
truly dance the dance of Jesus

heir apparent..:)
Well, that’s not who I intended. I was actually referring to my husband, who I met out dancing, but the thought of dancing with Jesus does make me smile. 🙂
Ha! Yes.. i read your description after posting but thought you wouldn’t mind the intent.. Smiles..:)
How romantic to meet your first love Linda ~
Well, he wasn’t my first love, but he’s the one I decided to keep. 🙂
Blessed couple, one of whom is a fine poet!
Thank you!
Nothing like a romantic dance on a warm June evening! Beautifully penned, Linda.
