Music Monday Extra – Wayfaring Stranger

In keeping with the traveling theme I’ve had going for the past few days for my trip to San Francisco, I decided to post this Youtube clip of Johnny Cash singing “Wayfaring Stranger.” I wanted to post one with some video, but I couldn’t find one.

This is one of my favorite Gospel songs by Johnny Cash. Not long after I started blogging, I posted an article called, appropriately enough, Wayfaring Stranger that was inspired by this song. If you like this song, you might want to check out that post, too. It was written while I was on another trip away from home for a women’s retreat.

I am a Jesus Freak, and I don't care who knows it. I am a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. My blood family is only part of the larger family of Christ that I belong to. I love to write, especially about my dear Savior.

  1. Love this so much Linda . . .it makes me cry. Just something about Johnny Cash, isn’t there? A genuineness that touches us deeply.
God bless you and the way you know what we need to hear!

    • Deb, I’ve read a couple of biographies of Johnny Cash and his story is just so genuine. I still remember the day he died I was so sad, and at the same time glad for him that he had finally gone home. This song always makes me cry, too, and look forward to the day when I will be wayfaring no more. Peace, Linda
