I Saw the Light
Early last week a fellow blogger posted a short quote that immediately brought to mind the Hank Williams Sr. song “I Saw the Light.” As a result, it has been stuck in my head all week. This is fine with me because it is a great song, and so I decided I would share it with you. The lyrics are:
I wandered so aimless life filled with sin
I wouldn’t let my dear saviour in
Then Jesus came like a stranger in the night
Praise the Lord I saw the light.
CHORUS
I saw the light I saw the light
No more darkness no more night
Now I’m so happy no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light.
Just like a blind man I wandered along
Worries and fears I claimed for my own
Then like the blind man that God gave back his sight
Praise the Lord I saw the light.
CHORUS
I was a fool to wander and a-stray
Straight is the gate and narrow the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the Lord I saw the light.
CHORUS
And here is a video of Hank singing it from YouTube:
Thanks, Linda.
So thankful He opened my eyes so I could see the Light. Nice song. (Signing up for the choir! 🙂 )
Blessings

Ann and Deb, Thanks for the encouraging comments! I have really been surprised at how this one has stuck in my head all week in spite of all the other music I have listened to on my iPod and in the car. It’s a good one, for sure. And Hank was always one of my dad’s favorites. 🙂 Peace, Linda
Bless you, Linda! Now I will be hearing Hank and singing that song too! And that’s a good thing!
