Spreading Wings of Hope
What if I fall?
What if I fail?
Will I bounce back
then later prevail?
Try as I might
in my own power
failure is all I find
Yet I have faith,
hopeful reliance on a power
much greater than mine
I will fly

It’s Quadrille Monday at dVerse Poets Pub again. De wants us to write a 44-word poem that includes her word for the year: bounce. I decided to also include my word for the year: reliance. Head on over and read how other poets are bouncing around in 44-words.
SO MUCH POSITIVITY. A wonderful message in your poem.. I wrote a poem on HOPES and BELIEFS. Would you please give it a read? It would mean loads to me. 🙂 🙂

Wonderful message.
Thanks.
Nice😊
Thanks.
😊
Hopeful and comforting, Linda. I think we all worry about falling and we all want to fly.
I like to believe we all have wings and the ability to fly.
I agree, but I don’t believe we are designed to fly alone.
A poem filled with hope. Love that sign.
I like the hopeful message in this piece. Well done.
Thanks.
Failure is all we can expect if it is all left up to us.
So true.
Yes we most definitely shall fly ❤️ Love this ☺️
Thank God we have someone to turn to, to lift us up! Just a breath away. No, within.
Yes, we will fly! Love this
Perhaps “I Will Fly” should be in caps for emphasis in this hopeful poem. Well said!
I’m not an all-caps kinda gal, but I agree with the sentiment.
Lovely hopeful words to lift the spirit!
Thanks!
Yes! Very good!!
Dwight
A modern reminder of spiritual truth.
If I’m going to fall, I’d like to have a go at flying first 🙂
I had a cup — a coffee cup — when I was in the military. It had a cartoon puppy facing out and behind him a large pair of front paws. It said, “I’m not much, but my dad can take you!” It was a subtle reminder….
I love it!
I dunno, Linda, that photo at the top of your blog tells me that you’ve already done the flying thing! Tee Hee! Seriously, my breathing became easier as I read these lines. Thank you for that.
True! Reminds me of a line in a Chris Stapleton song: “Falling feels like flying till you hit the ground.” Thankful for God’s parachute to soften the landing.
Cool write, Linda! Ride the dragon! 🙂
I love your faith and how it does lift you up. Fly girl, fky!
Very powerful Linda, I love how your faith will let you fly xxx
“Fly” you must, little one!
I think that we will never fly if we have a fear of falling… love it.
This is so powerful, and so true for me, too:
“Yet I have faith,
hopeful reliance on a power
much greater than mine”
I LOVE that sign, in your photo. And your words. Wonderful.
The sign in the photo is from a Casting Crowns concert, a lyric from one of their songs called “What If I Gave Everything.”
