August is proving to be very busy for me, in spite of being off work for six weeks starting July 12. I have a number of deadlines in August for articles to be published elsewhere. So I’ve decided to do something different for my paint chip prompt during the four Fridays of this month.
The Challenge
Each week, I will give you all three paint chip words to work with. This week your choices are babbling brook, starship, and lazy lizard.
I would like you to choose just one of these paint chips, the one that speaks to you the most. With that one paint chip word or phrase, write a poem of exactly 31 words, not counting the title. The form of the poem is up to you. You could turn to Japanese short form, such as haiku or tanka, though it would probably take more than one to get to 31 words.

Peace Abides rain drops fall quietly on the forest floor any sound of their landing muffled by the peaceful melody of the babbling brook wending through the cool shade of giant fir trees
