From Lamentations
to Stevie Ray Vaughn
the blues remind us
we're not alone
Bitterly we weep
while the sky is crying
Affliction and sadness
forever universal
and somehow
that simple reminder
set to Biblical verse
or a guitar riff that talks
makes life bearable
