Limericks for Lent

I have written a few limericks over the years. Well, most of them were written in 2012. I thought I’d share some today for my Lent posting.

There’s a man who was God come to earth
He arrived by a strange virgin birth
He gave sight to the blind
And He saved all mankind
Wanting us to all know of our worth

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

There’s a man who was God in the flesh
He first came in a lowly barn crèche
With disciples He walked
There was truth when He talked
He allows us to start life afresh

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

There’s a man, King of kings, who was God
On this evil planet He did trod
To the lost He gave peace
And the first He made least
Lord of lords in the end all will laud

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

There once was a king who loved God
And he danced in a linen ephod
Then scoff did his wife
She envied his life
And his joy she forever thought odd

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The devil tricked Eve, so it goes
But the joke was on him, I suppose
On the cross Jesus died
All to save you and I
And defying the grave He then rose

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Though I know I’m deeply flawed
And sometimes I fear I’m a fraud
Grace I do see
I’ve been set free
Because I am loved by God

And then one that’s completely unrelated, but cute, and has a picture to go with it:

There was a cute dog who played ball
When chasing he’d give it his all
Then back he would trot
To the ball throwing spot
Whether spring, winter, summer, or fall

I am a Jesus Freak, and I don't care who knows it. I am a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. My blood family is only part of the larger family of Christ that I belong to. I love to write, especially about my dear Savior.
