Paint Chip Poetry Prompt #10

We are at week 10 and spring is on its way. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it because spring is what the world needs.

Oh wait, that’s our prompt for the week: what the world needs. And the paint chip words are aboretumpooldandelioncotton candywonderful wisteriafull moon, and genie lamp.

Your challenge, if you’re up to it (and I know you are), is to write a poem about what you think the world needs, using at least four of the prompt words.

Here’s my poem:

Beautiful Creation

Strolling through the arboretum
in the light of a full moon as
cotton candy clouds threaten
to obscure its glory

A sneaky dandelion
hides its sunny face
in the crevice of a rock
waiting for the morning sun

Wonderful wisteria
waft over the waves
of the fountain pool
tantalizing my imagination

Such nights are just
what the world needs

No genie lamp required
God provided all that’s desired

Your Turn

Are you up for the challenge? Do you feel like you know what the world needs? Then come play along. Post your poem in the comments, or post it on your own blog and put a link in the comments. If you write one in your private journal, but you aren’t ready to show it to the world, at least comment and let me know you’ve done so.
