To Know and Be Known
The warm earth
beneath my feet trembles
with knowledge of our Creator
We have this in common,
the earth and me,
the One who knows us
and desires to be known
Sometimes I forget Him
Forget I am His beloved
The earth never does

Love this, especially:
“We have this in common,
the earth and me,
the One who knows us
and desires to be known”
Excellent write!
Thank you.
My pleasure 🙂
A beautiful write Linda, the earth always knows 💜
Awwe.. bless this piece and its writer.
Thank you for this sweet blessing!
Wonderful statement of faith.
Thanks.
The earth knows it better… wonder how much we can learn from it.
That question might need a blog post. 🙂
Sigh.. we must strive never to forget .. ❤
So true.
“the earth never does” – amen.
Love the truth of that last ending line. Good one Linda!
Truth throughout. Well done!
Thank you. 🙂
I really like the opening image of “The warm earth
beneath my feet trembles
with knowledge” — I’m instantly barefoot and highly sensitive. I feel your heart.
Thank you.
The earth is such an integral part of our being and therefore our individual faiths too. Well-penned.

Thanks.
Nice last line about the earth never forgetting.
It’s not as dense as us humans, I think.
This is such an honest Quadrille, Linda, which speaks from the heart and soul. I love the lines:
‘Sometimes I forget Him
Forget I am His beloved
The earth never does’.
Thank you. I value honesty, even when to be honest reveals my own faults. That is how we grow, I believe.
