A New Friend
Once upon
a midnight dreary
an empty
pair of pants
sauntered past my open door
startled me for sure
I jumped up
from my easy chair
ran right down
the porch stair
hollered to those empty pants
Want to be my friend?
Then those pants
stopped right in their tracks
turned to me
and replied
Yes, I’d love to be your friend
So he came inside
Ever since
we’ve been best of friends
The lesson
of this tale
Don’t let fear stop you meeting
different kinds of friends

I decided to write another Shadorma today. Linking again at dVerse Poets Pub. This one’s more lighthearted and is inspired by a Dr. Seuss story about empty pants.
Ha, this was fun.
I am not a poet nor do I read much poetry, but this one tells a great story with a twinkle in the eye. Thanks.
Thanks. 🙂
I hope the pants fit. Nice one.
Oh my, you’ve brought back a memory and your poem is charmingly written!
Lol!
