Scorched

image

Deep within my soul
vengeance smoldered
my sense of peace
anger mouldered

Indignation I felt
entitled to keep
burned my heart
festered seeped

Into each crevice
scorched by flame
mercy needed
my Savior came

Washed away
ash and chars
the only remnant
healing scars

I am a Jesus Freak, and I don't care who knows it. I am a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. My blood family is only part of the larger family of Christ that I belong to. I love to write, especially about my dear Savior.

  1. I believe the person who suffers most is the one who cannot let go, who cannot forgive. Jesus’ prayer for those who crucified him reminds me of how important forgiveness is. And to think, reflecting on the Our Father, we will be forgiven as we forgive. Not an easy one, heh?
