Sounds of the Sound
Sitting on the bank of the Sound
I listen for the wonderful sounds
of nature all around
White-crowned Sparrows pour out song
Harbor porpoises splash along
Bald eagles soar high and strong
Sea otters cavort shores where they belong
My awe of God abounds

It’s Quadrille Monday at dVerse Poets Pub and Victoria wants us to sound-off with our 44-word Quadrilles that include some form of the word sound. I used two.
He is amazing, in all He gives us and allows us to hear and feel
This is soo beautiful!
Thanks!
You’ve taken me to this magical place…..and yes. I so agree. Sometimes when I really look and listen and smell nature, I am in awe of this Creation!
Nature does inspire awe of God.
What a wonderful place to sit and enjoy nature’s beautiful music!💜🐬💦
Thanks. I was only there in my imagination yesterday, but it is a beautiful place.
:o) xxx
If we could leave listen more to nature, maybe we would take greater care of nature.
Love the sounds of nature’s creatures ~ That ending line is says it all – in awe of His creation!
So perfect, how you took the sounds of the Sound. I hadn’t thought of that. Lucky you to be in such a beautiful part of the world, and lucky me for the same reason. I should say blessed, rather than lucky, for that is what we are. Praise God, all you works of the Lord! Daniel 3
I’m down in the Portland area where it’s just as beautiful. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Puget Sound, but it seemed too perfect for the prompt.
I knew from the poem that you must be talking about the Northwest. I’d like to hear the sound of the sound again. Sure hope we can make it to the beach again this year. Sounds like a great memory
It’s actually a bit of a conglomerate of memories rather than a single one.
Well, I’ll be dipped in …
Easier to hear his voice among his works. Lovely poem.
Today I’ve been listening to Him from my back deck, but I figured that’d be too easy. And there are no porpoises there.
I understand.
You put your reader right there with you!
Thanks! Pretty good considering I wasn’t actually there.
HAHA! Well, I guess that makes you all that AND a bag of potato chips, huh? 🙂
Nice job of channeling the Sound! Everything you write is amazing, my friend 🙂
🙂 I’ll take a bag of potato chips! Ruffles, of course.
Let’s be reckless – I’ll bring dip, too 🙂
Thanks! I like French onion.
The song of the creator is a beautiful one.If only we could sing in tune with it more often.
Yes, that would be delightful if only we did.
I don’t know why, but this is my favorite line: “Harbor porpoises splash along”
I actually saw some last summer from the train on my way to Seattle. I haven’t sat on the shore of Puget Sound in a long time, but I could hear those porpoises in my mind.
This could be a psalm or hymn, so beautifully written, thanks for this!
Thank you.
