Echoes of Peace
My fear rises
The verse echoes in my mind
Do not be anxious, pray, be thankful
Peace reigns in my heart
I see her fear
The verse echoes from my mouth
Do not be anxious, let’s pray, be thankful
Peace reigns in her heart

Today is Quadrille Monday at dVerse Poets Pub where De is calling for our 44-word tomes that include some form of the word echo. Seemed appropriate to write something that had a bit of an echo to it.
So I went to read some other Quadrilles, and after 3 that seemed very, very long, it dawned on me that I’d written a 30-word poem instead of a 44-word poem. I guess 30 days of doing something does create a habit! I’ve fixed it now.
Wonderful and full of gratitude!
Thank you.
Very nice.
thanks!
Lovely quadrille and message.
i would offer such a prayer for peace – touching, really deep into the heart
I like the refrain Linda ~ Very inspiring to read tonight ~
I heard someone say once that fear underlies all our weaknesses–especially fear that we are not loved. Great use of scripture.
Yes, I believe that is true. Fear can lead to so many sins, including hatred, greed, and apathy.
Nice communal approach to easing fear.
Thanks. I didn’t really even notice the “communal” aspect as I wrote it, but you’re the second person to comment on it. I suppose that might be a by-product of spending the weekend at a Christian women’s retreat. 🙂
A beautiful piece and so appropriate for the echo prompt, sharing peace with a verse.
This is beautiful Linda, the power of a peaceful echo with love xxx
Wonderful testimony as well as a great poem.
Your poem radiates the peace and calm that my heart longs for ❤️ Beautiful!
Love the echo of fellowship in this. Bravo!
This was a comforting read.
“All we need is love–something the world has too little of.” –the Beatles. You know me, short poems freak me a bit-though I enjoy participating in quadrilles.
But I love when you write Quadrilles. Perhaps you need to remember “Don’t be anxious” when faced with a short poem to write? You do them so well.
A very peaceful Quadrille, Linda, which has gone some way to calming the anxiety that has been playing havoc with me lately.
I have Philippians 4:6-7 memorized and it has helped me greatly when I feel anxious. I’m glad this has helped you.
I came by earlier, but I knew you’d catch it and fix it on your own, so now I’m back to say I love this. I feel peace here, and I needed it today. Thank you.
Oh i thought it was a little short too… 30 days without poetry, that sounds like a lot. You can even add a third stanza if you want to.
I did 30 days of writing a 30-word poem each day in April. So when I got to 30 I stopped out of habit. I expanded it to add back the words I wanted to be there in the beginning.
