Sevenling: The Dogwood’s In Bloom
The dogwood’s in bloom,
the lilacs waft their intoxicating scent,
the pink azalea brightens the yard
Requiring more cultivation,
the lantana spreads it’s tiny flowers,
the snapdragons roar, and million bells ring
. . . oh the loveliness of spring

It’s such a beautiful sunny day here in Oregon, I decided to write a second poem combining the Sevenling prompt from dVerse Poets Pub yesterday with the flower prompt from NaPoWriMo this morning.
Lovely images, but I loved most the last two lines. Pronounced and read one after the other, they really summon the spring atmosphere and made me feel lively and enthusiastic.
Thank you! I didn’t realize those last two lines rhymed until after I’d written it. 🙂
Sounds beautiful, unfortunately, my allergies would disagree. :-/
It’s the pine tree pollen that gets me and we have plenty of that. It even made its way into a poem last week. But allergy pills help.
Lovely indeed, as you show us.
Wonderful names of your flowers, like a poem in themselves.
I am envious of your flowers and the spring blooming out from your front door ~ Good one Linda ~
Lovely! You’ve captured spring in verse!
Thanks!
Beautiful! We had early spring here this year, in February. Ha. So most of our flowering stuff is in full fruit already. Happy to picture this blooming beauty. Thank you.
I probably should have snapped a photo of the front yard flowers and posted it with the poem, but I’m more of a word person. My photography skills are not great. 😉
Neither are mine. It’s something I wish I was better at (but didn’t have to actually practice. Ha.)
You have captured spring beautifully.

When I stepped out my front door to go to work this morning, this is what I saw. It was glorious!
