The Wild Blue Yonder
Today the sun is shining bright
The sky is cerulean blue
Spring flowers bloom ev’rywhere
I see that God is ev’rywhere
Because of His countenance bright
My spirit is sunny, not blue
Honesty of the heavens blue
Reveals God’s mercy ev’rywhere
Hope of a future so bright
Yonder bright, deepest blue is ev’rywhere

The NaPoWriMo optional prompt today is to write a Tritina, which is like half a Sestina. Well, I love the Sestina, but writing one can take the better part of a day or two. The Tritina is much more manageable.
I’ve labelled these kinds of forms poetic sudoko! 🙂 You’ve succeeded quite well here. Mine for NaPoWriMo went over to the darker side. I shall go completely the opposite and have some fun with the Sevenling and post tomorrow AM. Sestina??? oh my goodness……….have not even attempted!
I’ve written 3 Sestinas, which I think might be enough for one lifetime. I’ll be posting my Sevenling in the morning, too.
Will look for it! 🙂
I had to laugh out loud at your comment about the Sestina taking “the better part of a day or two,” as I have lost a few days at the ruthless mercy of the form. The Tritina is much more enjoyable to write, and I truly enjoyed reading yours.
Truth be told, the last Sestina I wrote took more like 4 days, but who’s counting? 😉
Not me. They torment me in my sleep when I am trying to do one. 😉 Just the word makes me shiver a little.
