The Cross – A Cinquain
I’ve been struggling to post very often lately, and starting this week I’m taking on another responsibility as a Bible study small group leader. It occurred to me that I could embrace my love of short-form poetry and thereby continue to post with some regularity. And so here is a cinquain for today.
The Cross
The cross
around my neck
Instrument of mercy
The solution to my dismay
My hope
Your comment reminded me that I haven’t visited here in a while so I thought I would stop by. I’m glad I did. What a simple and powerful cinquain! I love it. Would you mind if I use it at school? (I’m a history teacher at a Christian school and I always put a quote or poem or something on the board in the morning).
Ben, I would be honored to have you use my poem in your class. I hope your students like it. Peace, Linda
God bless you, Linda, as you walk on in faith with Him. This poem was perfect for me today. Thanks!
Deb, I’m so glad it was a blessing. I am still amazed at how the Lord has drawn out the poet in me over the past few years, and it all started from me reading your simple poems of grace and truth. 🙂 Peace, Linda
Lovely poem. Good decision. After all, Linda, the blogoshere is a world of sound-bites anyway. Good luck with your class.
