The Kingdom of God – A Triolet

The Kingdom of God is within
The heart of each child of the King
By faith His reign must begin
The Kingdom of God is within

Through mercy each heart He will win
Like angels our love will take wing
The Kingdom of God is within
The heart of each child of the King

20 Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20-21 (NIV).

I’m sharing this today at dVerse Poets Pub for Open Link Night. Head over and check out some of the other great poetry offered there.

I am a Jesus Freak, and I don't care who knows it. I am a wife, mother, sister, aunt, daughter, and friend. My blood family is only part of the larger family of Christ that I belong to. I love to write, especially about my dear Savior.

  1. That is one of my favorite Bible verses! I love the poem, too. I do not know very much about the names of different types of poems, such as triolets, haiku, and what they mean. I can see there is a pattern, though, and I like reading this poem. It makes me feel happy, and young.

    Blessings,
    Theresa

    • Theresa, I’ve been learning about different poetry forms at dVerse Poets Pub blog. They post lessons on Thursdays. I really like this triolet form because it seems well suited to Christian poetry. 🙂 Peace, Linda
