The Kingdom of God – A Triolet
The Kingdom of God is within
The heart of each child of the King
By faith His reign must begin
The Kingdom of God is within
Through mercy each heart He will win
Like angels our love will take wing
The Kingdom of God is within
The heart of each child of the King
20 Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, “The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, 21 nor will people say, ‘Here it is,’ or ‘There it is,’ because the kingdom of God is within you.” Luke 17:20-21 (NIV).
I’m sharing this today at dVerse Poets Pub for Open Link Night. Head over and check out some of the other great poetry offered there.
I love this. So perfectly crafted. Bless you!
Your work definitely makes me smile, Linda!
Maria, Thank you. I hope what I write makes God smile, too. 🙂 Peace, Linda
This really works for me. Everything comes together: the rhythms, the repetition and the emphasis on the message (the one essential truth).
David, I’m glad you liked it. The message is the most important thing, and I am blessed to be able to share it in such a real way. Peace, Linda
something to speak aloud, with rhythm and rhyme =)
A lovely triolet … I find this form particularly challenging so am admiring of anyone who does it well and this is done well … very nice

I love triolets! It seems the more I write them the easier they become. The key is to get that first line right. 🙂 Peace, Linda
Very encouraging. Thank you for the inspiration. And I enjoyed the format and conviction of your voice and word choices.
Your faith shines throughout this piece. It would be wonderful if everyone allowed love to take wings in their life, wouldn’t it?
Yes, it certainly would! Peace, Linda
Nice one…!
i agree with what bri says…the small seed within first but then gets tremendously visible as well…smiles
So very well expressed…indeed the kingdom of God is within!
the kingdom of god is within and by that it finds its way out into the world but it def starts with that seed within….smiles…nice…
That is one of my favorite Bible verses! I love the poem, too. I do not know very much about the names of different types of poems, such as triolets, haiku, and what they mean. I can see there is a pattern, though, and I like reading this poem. It makes me feel happy, and young.
Blessings,
Theresa
Theresa, I’ve been learning about different poetry forms at dVerse Poets Pub blog. They post lessons on Thursdays. I really like this triolet form because it seems well suited to Christian poetry. 🙂 Peace, Linda
