Third Day – A Poem
With the Third Day concert coming up this Sunday, of course I had to write a poem for Thankful Thursday about how thankful I am for their wonderful music. Every song Third Day sings is for the glory of God and provides encouragement to the believer. That’s something to be thankful for.
Third Day
The Spirit of God
Heard in each song
Inspired lyrics encouraging me
Rock music that I love, brings joy
Declaring the love of God for all
Divine grace and mercy
At the core of all they sing
Yea, for their praise of sweet Jesus
When I think of the joy I find in Christian music, I’m reminded of the Psalms, many of which were written to be sung to the Lord. I believe the Lord is pleased when we sing and shout for joy to His glory.
Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
make music to the LORD with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn—
shout for joy before the LORD, the King.
Psalm 98:4-6 (NIV).
