Seventeen Years – A Haiku
Today is my son’s 17th birthday, so I decided to write a haiku for him because haiku’s have 17 syllables. Then after writing the first one, I decided to write a second about our birthday plans for the day.

Happy Birthday to your son, Linda–and how nice to write a poem for him. More and more, I’m doing that for gifts to special people–they seem to like it. Poems don’t spoil if not refrigerated, don’t shatter if dropped, don’t wear out–unless of course they accidentally go through the laundry! God bless you.
Thanks! He did have a great birthday. And you were actually my inspiration to write haiku! Peace, Linda
I saw that it was your son’s birthday on FB. I hope it was a happy day!
Along with your inspired writing and faith, I admire your academic prowess. I forgot about those 17 syllables long ago…enjoyed those very much. ; )
We had a great day! I’m worn out. As for the haiku, this was my first attempt – I was inspired by Caddo. 🙂 Peace, Linda
Happy Birthday wishes! God bless you as you celebrate your son today! 🙂 I love birthdays!
Deb, I’ll pass on the birthday wishes! Peace, Linda
