Have I mentioned lately that it’s been a crazy week? I know it’s Recipe Friday, but I just don’t have a recipe to share today. Last night as I drove home from a late-night work meeting, I was listening to my Trevor Morgan CD. I decided I wanted to share the song “Jericho” for my post today. I was only able to find a live version on YouTube, but it sounds pretty good. But I also wanted to share the lyrics.
Jericho, by Trevor Morgan
I see your sunrise
In my dark skies
But I’m not ready for the day
Cause I can’t hide
In your light
No, I can’t keep you away
I hunker down behind my walls
But your love’s a wrecking ball
CHORUS
And I’m just like Jericho
You’re marching around
My defenses are tumbling down
Yeah, I’m just like Jericho
You’re marching around
My defenses are tumbling down
I feel your warm breeze
Through my bare trees
Chasing winter with your spring
I fought the good fight
Thinking I was right
To push away your offering
I kept my guard up through it all
But I am ready now to fall
CHORUS
I can feel your attack
My foundation cracks
But I’m not fighting back
No, I won’t fight you back
This is what I needed all along
So break me down and build me back up strong
CHORUS
