Last night we went out to dinner at a local Irish Pub. I had Plum Duff Bread Pudding for dessert, but was a bit disappointed. It tasted okay, but wasn’t what I was expecting. It was extremely dry and the outside crust was overdone. It was piled high with whipped cream, which was its only saving grace.
I love good bread pudding, but I can seldom find it in a restaurant. The last time I tried it was at a buffet in Houston, Texas. Those of you who read my Foods of Texas post will note that I did not include this in my good things to eat in Texas, because it wasn’t very good.
I also don’t have a good, tried and true recipe for bread pudding. So for my post today I decided to make a call for good bread pudding recipes. If you have a bread pudding recipe — one that is sweet and gooey with raisins or other yummy fruits — please post a link to it or the recipe itself in a comment. I really have a hankering for bread pudding, but I don’t want to try a bunch of recipes to find a good one.
