Time – A Poem
Last night I was at a friends putting together supply bags for our upcoming Women’s Retreat. It has been a busy week and I knew I hadn’t yet posted my Thankful Thursday poem. This is the first time since starting Thankful Thursday that my poem was not written several days, if not a full week, before the date it was posted. As I was cleaning up my stuff a poem came to me to post for today. It’s short, just like our time here on this earth.
Time
There never seems to be enough of it
I‘m thankful for what time I have and hope I use it well
May the Lord be glorified by what I do with each hour of each day
Eternity awaits when time will be no more
I will extol the LORD at all times;
his praise will always be on my lips.
I will glory in the LORD;
let the afflicted hear and rejoice.
Glorify the LORD with me;
let us exalt his name together.
Psalm 34:1-3 (NIV).
I love that your poetry “comes to you.” I know by your words that you are truly inspired.
I hope your Women’s Retreat is a blessing! : )
Linda, What a nice comment! Thank you. This week has definitely been a lesson in patience and waiting on God. I much prefer when my poems come to me a week or so ahead of time, but that was not His plan for this week. Peace, Linda
So thankful for all the times He brings you what you (and we!) need to hear. I have time issues. ha! So your poem helped a lot! Thank you and God bless you and the time you use for Him!
Deb, I’m glad this short poem was a blessing to you. With the little time we have I do think it is important to be aware of whether we are using it to His glory. Peace, Linda
Thanks, Linda 🙂
Nicely done. I like-y 🙂
“I‘m thankful for what time I have and hope I use it well
May the Lord be glorified by what I do with each hour of each day”
Praying this prayer. A very timely 😉 message for me .
Blessings,
ann
Ann, I didn’t think of this poem as a prayer, but you are right that it works that way! Thanks for the smiley faces, too. Peace, Linda
