This is month six of keeping up with the Post-a-Day Challenge, and so far I haven’t missed a day. In fact, there were a few days when I posted twice. But for some reason this week I’m feeling overwhelmed and a bit weary with the task of writing. I just don’t seem to have anything to say. At least not anything that is done rattling around in my head and ready for publishing. So I decided to post a poem that I originally wrote for Idylls for the King, a Christian Literary Blog.
And just to prove how weary I’ve been feeling, I forgot to give this post a title until I saw the first comment on it in my dashboard and there was no title.
I Wonder?
I wonder
What would I do
If I didn’t know You?
I wonder
Where would I be
If You hadn’t saved me?
I wonder
Would I know love
If it didn’t come from above?
I wonder
When my life comes to an end
How many angels will You send?
I wonder
Will my family know You
When their time comes, too?
I wonder
Many things, but this I know
To You I must go.
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29 (NLT).
